VBS 2012 "Adventures on Promise Island"

This week at VBS I was reminded of all of God's promises that he has for each and every one of us.
Monday- "I am with you"- God promises that he is by our side whenever we need him. We discussed how in Daniel Shadrach, Meshach and Abendego were thrown in the fiery furnace by King Nebuchadnezzar and God was with them. " 23And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.24Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellers, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. 25He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
Tuesday- "I care about you"- God promises that he cares for each and everyone of us. In John 11:1-3;17-44 Jesus cares for Mary, Martha and Lazzarus
Wednesday- "I give you what you need"- In Mark 2:1-12 Jesus helps a man brought by four friends.
Thursday- " I will save you"- Jesus died for each and everyone of us so that we might live with him forever in the kingdom of Heaven.
Friday- "I will answer you"- God listens to you and answers your prayers

We've learned 3 really good songs this week that I can't get out of my head lol
"His promise is forever"
 "Standing on the Promises"

"God cares about me"

We had hand motions and dances for each of the songs. You should have seen the younger kids dancing and singing their little hearts out for Jesus it was heart warming! :)

God is so good :)

I have to admit that I have pushed God away a little over the past few years. During my parents divorce we didn't go to church anywhere really but I sure relied on him alot. I knew he was there for me when I didn't really know who to trust. When I got real upset I always said to myself "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" and pulled through the heartbreak. Even though it has been 4 years since my parents divorced I still get really upset over things. Their divorce caused me to mature faster than some people my age because I had to be an example for my brother and sister. To be honest I haven't been the best role model for my sister and I should really try to do better. My brother is like my own son it feels like, I know that's weird but he was born when I was twelve and my parents divorced after he turned 1 so i've always been the one there for him. He doesn't constantly have my mom and dad but he's always with me. They are a big reason that I want to be a better Christian example. I started to go back to church when my boyfriend Michael invited me to go to "teens" with him on Wednesday nights. I was very shy at first even though I knew most of the people there I honestly didn't pay attention like I should have. Now that I have been going almost every Wednesday for almost 3 years I've started to grow closer to God. I wish my boyfriend would go to church every Sunday too but he won't. I really want to join the church one day but I'll look dumb asking to join when I don't even come on Sundays. I just, well, miss being close to God. This week we have been having VBS and I have really noticed how close that I used to be to God. God has really tugged at my heart so far this week and I really am set on listening to him and trying to grow closer to him. God is good to me so good and I need to stop and realize that sometimes.

Senior Pictures

I wanted to share a couple of my senior pictures that Mrs.Melissa Kidd took for me :). We spent the majority of the day taking pictures at my boyfriend Michael's House and then we headed to North Moore and to Asheboro to take some more pictures. We finished off our photo session with a stop at Chick-fi-la for some delicious ice cream!

Mackenzie's 11th Birthday Luau!

My sister Mackenzie turned 11 today, even though she's a pain in the butt still love her & I had a few really neat ideas for her Luau Party.

Mama was in charge of the cake but I was in charge of the cupcakes. I found this idea on Google. Aren't they cute! I used lifesaver gummies and teddy grahams. The kids loved them!

We used drink umbrellas on the cupcakes as well.

My mom made a sheet cake and then she cut out two flip flop shapes. We used Twizzlers and icing flowers to make the straps.

I DJ'd the party. We played a mix of Beach Boys and Hawaiian Music.

Mackenzie decided she wanted to have finger foods instead of pizza or hamburgers and hot dogs.

Fruit Tray: Cantelope, Watermelon, Pineapple & Strawberries. We used the top of the pineapple to decorate with.

I found this idea on pinterest. You take Nutter Butter Cookies and icing straps on them to make flip flip cookies.

Pigs-In-A-Blanket

Totinos Pizza Rolls

Veggie Tray: Broccoli, Grape Tomatoes, Carrots & Cucumbers with Ranch Dip.
We also had chips and dip.

We made some party punch: kool aid, ginger ale & pineapple juice. And we also had Food Lion brand Mountain Dew and Dr.Pepper

There was way to many kids but Mackenzie had a great birthday and her friends had a blast :)

I've made a decision lol

I've decided that I want to go to Randolph Community College to get an Associates Degree in Photographic Technology: Portrait Studio Management. I want to start my own photography business or partner up with someone (you know who you are haha). Being on yearbook staff for the first time this past year and working my way up to becoming this upcoming years Editor & Chief showed me how much I love taking pictures and just messing around with them. Plus one of my favorite teachers, who I admire alot, influenced me as well. I might have the brains to be a doctor or a lawyer but I think that this career choice will allow alot of flexibility and I will actually enjoy what I am doing. So for this upcoming Christmas I'm gonna ask everybody to give me $$$ so I can buy a really nice camera that I can mess around with. Well one more year of high school and then i'll figure it all out. I'm glad I've finally decided on something. :)

One Wish...

I know people say don't wish your life away but I want nothing more than to be on my own away from all this chaos. I want my own place to go to be by myself. I want a house in the middle of the woods away from everything else. So I can just think and clear my head and just have space. I can't wait to have my own life away from my hectic family. Everyone is like no no these are the best years of your life but well they don't live my life!

My Life....SUCKS!!

Well my life is defiantly like a roller coaster I am constantly going up and down emotionally. Everything starts to get better and then something bad always happens. I always try to have good days but something always ruins them. I can't do anything without getting told I'm doing something wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if a doctor diagnosed me with some type of depression. I'm on the verge of a major health issue, considering family has a long history of high blood pressure and strokes, because every time I get worked up my chest begins to hurt and I start shaking. Most of the time I could just go shut myself in my room and curl up in a ball and cry just cry as hard as I can. I wanna do alot of things but something always happens that keeps me from doing it. I don't even know why I started this blog to show my creative side because honestly I probably will never accomplish anything in my life. I just don't know what to do anymore :( .

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Happy Birthday America! Well needless to say our little endeavor yesterday messed up my planned schedule for today. So, we decided to just hang out at the pool and cookout with my mom today.

We made an American flag birthday cake :)

We took a dip in the pool :)

Grilled some hot dogs & hamburgers

Made some homemade vanilla ice cream to go with our cake :)

Shot a big pack of backyard fireworks, sparklers and we threw pop-its at each other haha :)

Today was a really good day. Really helped me get my mind off of yesterday's events.
Happy 4th of July Everyone!
Happy Birthday USA!

What a day!

Well today started out like a normal day. Went swimming ate supper, decided to bake a 4th of July flag cake. Needed some icing coloring so me and my boyfriend Michael headed on over to Walmart. As i'm checking out I get a phone call from my grandma saying "don't panic, your'e daddy has totaled his truck." Well needless to say I panic'd and drove straight to the seen. As soon as I got there he was being taken off in the ambulance to the hospital. I ran down the road to see the truck. My dad had dodged a deer and ran off the opposite side of the road into a drop off full of trees and weeds and the truck was done for. The truck should have flipped but thank God it didn't. He could have been seriously injured or even killed. Went to the hospital and he was fine, just sore and scraped up pretty bad from all the glass and the seat belt really did a number on him because is chest hurt him bad. One of the things that I noticed a while later was that his airbags had not deployed. Well my parents are divorced and I have a really hard time with both of them because they like to fuss over everything. No one can ever be completely happy. Hopefully he is getting a good nights sleep at his house I couldn't stay with him. I thank God for watching out for him!!! Well maybe tomorrow, well today, will be better.

My First Blog...

Well I figured i'd make myself a blog...ive started to become really creative and want to share my ideas and things on here.
